Su-27 (NATO reporting name - Flanker) is a Soviet heavy multi-purpose highly maneuverable all-weather fighter of the fourth generation. Created with the aim of gaining air superiority. Developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau, operation in the Air Force began in 1985, but was officially adopted for service only in 1990.
Su-27S (Su-27/"Flanker-B") - the main serial modification, a single-seat fighter-interceptor with an AL-31F engine. The Su-27 aircraft, together with the MiG-29 aircraft, is the main fighter aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force and is used to combat enemy aircraft, helicopters and cruise missiles in the air, as well as to destroy ground (sea) targets.
