In the 1970s, the US Mobility Equipment Research and Development Command (MERDC) developed a system of colors for camouflage patterns for US Army vehicles. It consisted of a color scheme of standardized patterns for each vehicle, which were used with twelve colors. This set includes all the tones necessary to represent the Gray and Red Desert patterns.
